How does it work?

Pepto Bismol contains bismuth subsalicylate, which coats the stomach lining, reduces inflammation, and slows fluid movement through the intestines to relieve diarrhoea and discomfort.

Ingredients

Active ingredient (per 10ml): Bismuth subsalicylate 262mg.

Side Effects

May cause black tongue or dark stools (harmless). Avoid if allergic to aspirin or salicylates. Not for children under 16. Don’t use if pregnant or breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor.
